Mordrin kicked Garrus and Tali out of my Favorite Character Throne in Mass Effect 2 and has been sitting there comfortably ever since.
So Shimmy wrote this fic, right; an AU where young Earthborn gang member Shepard and freshly out of Brain Camp Kaidan meet for the first time in Vancouver, long before the events of the game. It’s all kinds of fantastic and I’ve been doing nothing but doodling about it for the past few days.
So, here, super sketchy illustration of a scene in said fic. Teens are SO hard to draw, ugh ugh ugh ugh Maybe I’m just too used to drawing beefcaky dudes ;A;

With all the angst going around, here’s a non-angsty picture featuring
Shepard’s buma respite. This was meant to be quick, but I ended up experimenting with lines and colours ugh. I dedicate this (long due) to Lizzi and Clara. Lighten up? ;;lighten up, kaidan says, maybe not in so many words, maybe not because he thinks it’ll be easy. maybe because it’s so hard. maybe because shepard’s so hard. he could get used to this, to thinking this way, to stopping shepard in the middle of the bad gravity he gets pulled into, to taking him by the waist and taking him to bed. lighten up, kaidan thinks in the darkness, and whatever light there is turns into something they share with each other more than they share it with the shadows, bright shapes falling on shepard’s back, on his bare thigh, enough that kaidan actually has to close his eyes. lighten up—but shepard’s light already, right there in kaidan’s lap, thumb sweeping over the freckles scattered above his eyebrow and the gray salted at his temple. all those little things. all those light things. all those kisses they finally get to share. lighten up, kaidan tells himself, and it’s easy, so easy to listen.

Too early for what though?
I really have no idea what Kaidan sees in Shepard, he spent most of the first game despairing of his every decision and nothing has really improved.. my Shepard is a massive dick. (Maybe that’s it..)
